Review: The Thrill of the Chaste by Dawn Eden

I first came across Dawn Eden when she was interviewed on EWTN – I think it was on ‘The Journey Home.’  I felt drawn to certain aspects of her story, probably because some of them mirror mine.  Anyway, I stopped what I was doing and just stood in the kitchen, listening.  And then I went searching for her books …

Dawn’s a Catholic convert (she was raised Jewish).  In this book, she writes about her conversion and the sexual choices she made both before and after it.  She makes the case for the Church’s teaching on sexuality and contrasts her living out of this teaching (moving towards consecrated, single life) with her previous sexual lifestyle.

It is a very readable, non-judgemental book.  Dawn tells her story plainly, to an intended adult audience which she asks to question its own sexual behaviour in the light of clearly-explained Church teaching.
