Review: The Quilter’s Apprentice by Jennifer Chiaverini

My sister, knowing that I love sewing and reading and that I’d be laid up after Christmas, gave me this book at Christmastime.  She said that she (also a stitcher and reader) had really enjoyed it and was now working her way through the series.  I read it before my surgery (not her intention!) and can totally see why.  Amazon recently had the whole series available for the Kindle for 99p each so I will be doing the same!

It’s a heartwarming story but not sugary-sweet and there are lots of quilt-y details which, in all honesty, a non-stitcher might find wearing.  In fact, as a novice quilter, as I read I felt quite proud that I understood most of it.  I even know how to make some of the blocks mentioned and picked up a few tips along the way!
