… and such a lot has happened. So, in no particular order, here we go with a catch up:
The Ankle of Doom
The ankle is doing fairly well, all things considered. I’m in less pain now than I was before the operation and the surgeon seemed fairly happy the last time I saw him. I don’t have my full range of movement. I still have swelling. I still have some pain. But I can walk down the stairs like a grown-up and don’t lurch through life like I used to. I had an x-ray a couple of weeks ago to see how the bone grafts are doing and will get the results on Thursday.
My mum became seriously ill while back in Fuerteventura and has been diagnosed with heart failure. As she’s already had two cancer nonsenses and one stroke nonsense, we feel she’s probably secretly a cat working hard to use up her nine lives! It’s been a very hard time for all of us (not least her) but she does seem to be doing better this week since the latest change in her medications.
A Cat’s Tail
William-cat returned home bleeding one evening a couple of weeks ago. He’d had some kind of accident and ‘degloved’ about two inches from the tip of his tail. The vet decided to amputate that and a couple more inches to get back to healthy tissue and put poor William into a surgical collar to stop him licking the wound. Enter one very unhappy cat! The wound’s healing well now and William’s out of his collar as of Friday.
So, can I be forgiven for not writing while all of this has been going on, please? Normal service is now being resumed 🙂
